Cause it can't get *too* loud. Presented by Dandy — Milwaukee's only vintage store / event space (probably) — it's the pilot concert of "Somewhat Unplugged" with Caley Conway and featuring Ellie Jackson. This concert series was created for folks who enjoy chill music in an equally chill atmosphere, but between you and me it was mainly created because we operate on the edge of a neighborhood and are super self conscious about bothering people with loud sounds. The store will be open from 12-7pm, doors to the show open at 7:30, show at 8. Somewhat Unplugged is an 18+ show, but of-age patrons can also enjoy our full bar. CORONAVIRUS UPDATE Regarding the city's June 1 maskless transition, we care very much about our customers and will continue to offer sanitizer and spare masks if necessary, though we will also defer to the governing bodies we were relying on throughout this saga to make educated judgment calls. All said, masks will be optional for vaccinated individuals and recommended for those who aren't, though we will not be asking you to reveal your personal health information. ABOUT THE ARTISTS Opener and collaborator Ellie Jackson delivers determined vulnerability, exploring emotions through guitars, stories, amplification and a careful balance of harmony and dissonance that creates pulpy folk rock songs you may find in a context less frequently tied to the Midwest. Ellie Jackson Bandcamp Ellie Jackson on Facebook Headliner Caley Conway is rooted in folk, but hardly bound to it. Her inventive style ranges from jazz to post-rock, hints at the familiar, and embraces a dissonant beauty. Her breezy voice and disarming wit belie a deep complexity, bringing a new set of rules to the singer-songwriter paradigm. Across her career, Conway has shared stages with Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, Joan Shelly, and more. 2020, though deprived of live performances, had her staying busy with several recording and mixing projects. The first of these, an EP titled Bliss or Bust that broke this past May, along with a trilogy of self-produced music videos.
