Bassist Seeks Drummer to NEVER PLAY OUT.

Description

I never NEED to "play out" again. Sure, I'm already in a project that's planning to play shows now that Covid-19 is running out of episodes, but I'm really just looking for a drummer who wants to play loud, once or twice a week to maintain our sanity. No moving the kit around. No hauling amps and cymbal stands around. No setting up your kit in the corner of a dark club that smells like bat urine. No playing in Shelton for 7 people and no gas money. (I would PREFER someone in NORWALK, WESTPORT, WILTON, or FAIRFIELD if possible, but I'm flexible. I'm just tired of driving to New Haven, Danbury, and White Plains to play songs I don't care about. But I'm flexible if you're on the same wavelength.) Work is a drag. Kids are driving me crazy. Need to get out of the house. I don't want to worry about tunes and band politics, and where to play next, and what's the next step to collapsing-indie-music-scene domination. I'm not looking for a new best friend. I just need regular sonic therapy. Turn up to 11 a couple times a week and smashy smash 'til we're tired and the fuzz-endorphins drown my brain. -Could be Sabbath Covers -Could be Experimental Noise Rock (Jesus Lizard / Helmet / Swans / Shellac) -Could be 60's Garage Tunes (Sonics / Hives / Mummies / Thee Headcoats) -Could be Queen / Sparks / Gang of Four / Television covers. -Could be Stoner/Doom (Sleep / High on Fire / Sumac) (BUT I am no drugs, BTW.) -Could be more Proggy (Yes/Rush/ELP or whatever the newfangled kids today think is Prog) -Could be anything Dave Grohl played on EXCEPT the Foo Fighters (Tenacious D, Nirvana, QOTSA, Crooked Vultures) Not really into nu-slap, but I love me some ACTUAL 70's funk and some Neo-Soul, so could be convinced to do the Vulfpeck, Bad Bad Not Good, Dirty Loops, Snarky Puppy, Ghost Note thing once in a while if that's more your style. But that might require too much brain power in the long run. Just want big drums, hit hard, behind the beat. AND WE NEVER, EVER NEED TO MOVE OUR GEAR OR PLAY OUT, EVER. DON'T EVEN NEED A GUITAR PLAYER. Maybe keys if it comes down to it, but for right now, a 2-piece would work fine for me. I don't want to waste anyone's time, so if you're down for some loud, please send me one or two samples of your playing. Just so I can hear what's up. I can do the same. I am personally no drugs or booze (so I'm safe to come to your house and play), but you can be 420 and booze, as long as I don't stink of 420 when I'm driving home. I can contribute $50 per month for a rehearsal space if it comes to that, but would prefer you have your own space already if possible. (Even if it's your own basement or garage, as long as we can get loud without alerting the neighbors & cops.) But if we need a space, we can find a space. Norwalk, Westport, Wilton, or Fairfield if possible, but I'm flexible. Did I mention we never have to play out? --- Drummers I Love: Jeremy McMonigle (Young Widows), Nick Yacyshyn (Sumac), Rey Washam (Scratch Acid/Rapeman), Dale Crover (Melvins), Sam Bosson (Trash Talk), Thomas Pridgen (Mars Volta), Steven Drozd (Flaming Lips), Chris Dave, Peter Erskine, Elvin Jones, Philly Joe Jones.
