The cost of this course is $275 and includes a self study student workbook. Approved by the State of Colorado, as well as various other states. There are two e-books included as well! Participants will receive hands on practice with our IV simulation manikins. In this course we will cover; Competency and Scope of Practice; Instructions for use; Anatomy and Physiology; Fluid and Electrolyte Balance; Infection Control; IV Tubing Line Setup; IV Fluid Calculations; IV Tubing Change Frequency; Skin Care and infection control; Peripheral IV Insertion; Equipment Techniques in Venipuncture; Troubleshooting IV Infusion; IV assessment; Discontinuing IV Therapy; Documentation; Complications of IV Therapy. Each student must successfully start 10 IVs as well as discontinue them and pass all skills competency testing before the certification is issued. All the labs will be completed in the classroom in our lab, on the last day of class, including 10 IV Sticks on high fidelity simulation manikins. Upon successful completion of the course and the hands on skill practice and testing, students will receive certification for the course.
