Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is hosting a free vascular screening on Thursday, June 17th (originally scheduled for May 18) from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at 8401 Picardy Avenue in Baton Rouge.
Guests will receive a complimentary ankle brachial index (ABI) screenings and Thermal Imaging screenings. An ABI simple, painless exam is used to test the blood flow in the legs to determine risk of vascular disease. Thermal imaging screening which uses new technology that can detect venous insufficiency. Results will be reviewed on site by CIS interventional cardiologists, Dr. Amit Patel and Dr. Satish Gadi.
Risk factors of vascular disease include family history, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive.
