In this workshop, you'll learn how to plan for your winter garden and what summer pests and diseases to look for to keep crops healthy. In this in-person workshop, learn to take full advantage of the unique gardening climate in San Francisco, where you can grow your own fruits and vegetables year-round! Join us throughout the seasons for our Grow Your Own Food workshop. In July, you'll learn how to start planning for your winter garden so your plants will be at peak maturity in a few months. You will also learn about what pests and diseases may affect your current crops and how to control them to keep plants healthy. Instructor Carey Craddock, our expert instructor, is a horticulturalist who has been gardening and teaching others to garden in San Francisco since 1997. Carey will go over everything you need to know about getting a bountiful return on your efforts in your vegetable garden and take you on a full tour of our garden! NOTE: Your well-being while at GFE at this time is of paramount concern. At this time, we monitoring the COVID19 situation and will adjust the workshop situation if needed. Please bring a mask and be prepared to wear it, bring your own gardening gloves, and be respectful of other participants' need for distancing and a feeling of safety. Please do not attend the workshop if you are feeling sick or know you have been in contact with someone who has exhibited COVID19 symptoms (fever, chills, shaking / shivering, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, feeling unusually weak or fatigued, recent loss of taste or smell, muscle pain, headache, runny or congested nose, or diarrhea). Please cancel your registration if needed. GFE reserves the right to deny class participation if any of the above guidelines are not followed. No walk-up registration permitted for this course.
