Description

Take our 3-hour workshop to build your very own Crate Chair following Rietveld’s design from almost 100 years ago. Looking for a simple, elegant, modern solution to a lack of seating? The Crate Chair was created by Dutch Architect Gerrit Rietveld. In the 1930’s wooden crates were everywhere as an easy way to transport goods. Rietveld created a simple design to reuse the crates and turn them into furniture for the masses. The Crate Chair design is durable and can be used for indoor or outdoor seating. Today we celebrate Gerrit Rietveld as an early pioneer of reuse, making his design the perfect chair to build using our reclaimed materials.
