Learn about the canal system beginning in South Hadley with the earliest navigable canal in the United States, that began operation in 1795. This is an approximately 2-mile tour so it's also a great way to help you reach your daily goal of 10,000 steps! Since this is a 2-mile walking tour, please dress appropriately and wear comfortable shoes. Park at the South Hadley Public Library parking lot at 2 Canal Street of South Hadley. Current COVID-19 protocols will be adhered to. No need to print a ticket. Attendance will be taken at the event.
