Join us at 10am for a free walking tour of Historic Downtown Atlanta, right off of Route 66 and I-55! Meet at the Visitors Center on Arch! With less than a mile of walking, see what makes Atlanta unique from our Smiley Water Tower to our 2 sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The tour will include the history of Atlanta from its founding in the 1800s, Abraham Lincoln and his time in the city, the African-Americans experience, and Route 66! The sites we will be visiting include: JH Hawes Grain Elevator and Museum, Route 66 Arcade Museum, Memories: Route 66 Museum, Atlanta History Museum, Atlanta Public Library, Clock-Tower, JP Hieronymus Carriage House, Route 66 Park, Tall Paul, Xenia Park, and our beautiful city murals! There is a lot to see in our downtown! Come ready for photos and history! After the tour, we recommend grabbing lunch at one of fabulous restaurants- Chubby's Bar & Grill, Country-Aire, Korner Bar, and 217 Bar & Grill.
