Ex-Restaurant Employee Charged With Threatening: Westport Police

WESTPORT, CT — Police said a man accused of threatening to shoot people at a restaurant during a phone call last month was arrested Thursday. In a news release, Police Lt. David Wolf said officers were called to a Westport restaurant on April 29 after receiving a a report that a former employee had called the establishment multiple times over the past several days requesting to get his job back. The employee was identified as David Iredia, 38, of Bridgeport. "It was alleged that during one of these phone calls, Mr. Iredia threatened to go to the restaurant and shoot everyone," Wolf said in a news release. "Mr. Iredia was interviewed about this incident and purportedly said he does not own a gun and only made the comment in response to a threat made against him." Iredia was arrested on a warrant by Trumbull police and turned over to Westport police Thursday afternoon, Wolf said. Per the warrant, Iredia was charged with second-degree threatening and second-degree harassment.
