Waypoint Sign Company is the premier architectural signage company in the Seattle Metro area. We specialize in full service wayfinding signage for large scale residential and commercial buildings. We are seeking candidates with experience in similar/relatable fields to train as a machine operator, junior fabricator. Previous experience is not required. This is a full-time, Monday—Friday position offering excellent medical benefits, growth opportunities, and a creative work environment. In this role, you will: The Junior Fabricator assists in the assembly, organization and preparation of manufactured signs and graphics for installation. This role requires careful attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills. Team members work on multiple fabrication projects, requiring the ability to follow direction from supervisors and remain focused and productive. We are looking for candidates who have: • High School or GED minimum education • Valid driver's license and clean driving record, as pickups and deliveries in company vehicle will be required • Ability to lift at least 50lbs • Basic knowledge of tools and hardware • Able to understand basic diagrams and blueprints and follow assembly instructions • Dependable, efficient, well-organized and goal-oriented • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as self-manage when given a task Bonus skills (desired but not required): • Previous fabrication experience and/or knowledge of more specialized sign shop machinery such as printer, plotter, laminator, engraver, laser, CNC, etc. • Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop experience • Forklift certification • Any other post high school education or certification Great benefits, perks, and work environment: • This position is full time and non-exempt (eligible for overtime). • Full-time employees receive excellent medical benefits, PTO, paid holidays, and an optional 401(k) retirement program. • Employees have access to free, on-site parking and convenient access to public transportation. • Work environment is creative and collaborative. • Many opportunities for ongoing learning, skill development, and career growth. Bonus Points for: • Knowledge of Illustrator / Corel draw • Experience working with different materials. Acrylics, woods, & metals. • Previous experience running lasers, engravers, & shop tools. • Experience with shop tools. Panel saws, drill presses, miter saws, & table saws. • Forklift driver experience.
