NORWALK, CT — Police said a person suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday following what was likely a "targeted shooting" in Norwalk.
In a news release, Police Sgt. Sofia Gulino said the department received reports of shots fired and a person with injuries in the area of Suncrest Road.
Police located the shooting victim and tended to their injuries as additional officers flooded the area in search of suspects and evidence, Gulino said.
The victim was taken to Norwalk Hospital to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries, Gulino said. Police have not released his identity at this time.
Gulino said police believe the shooting was targeted, not random, and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Christopher Imparato at 203-854-3190 or by email at [email protected].
Information can also be provided anonymously through the Norwalk police tip line at 203-854-3111 or through the department's website at www.norwalkpd.com. Anonymous text tips can be submitted by typing "NORWALKPD" into the text field, followed by the message, and sending it to TIP411 (847411).
