POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ – In a letter posted on the school's website on May 19, Point Pleasant Beach officials announced that all students would not be taking final exams this year.
According to the letter, "a number of factors were weighed in making this decision."
"Due to a number of circumstances, final exams will not be administered this year. All students will receive an "E" or Excused as a grade within the exam column on report cards," the letter says.
Teachers will still be giving out assessments before the marking period's end, according to the letter.
"Students should expect many teachers to administer some form of assessment during the last days of the marking period," the letter said.
"Assessing where our students are at for the end of the year is critical data we will use to help plan for next year. These assessments will be grades within the fourth marking period."
