AUSTIN, TX — Two people are injured after a boat exploded on Lake Austin Friday afternoon, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.
Austin-Travis County EMS said one person was sent to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas for traumatic injuries at 4:28 p.m. Friday. No other person has been taken to an area hospital.

Austin Fire tweeted an image around 4:30 p.m. of a boat burning with black smoke in the air in the water near the 2200 block of Scenic Drive.
At 4:55 p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS reported no other patients taken to a local hospital.
As the boat later sank, Austin Fire deployed absorbent fuels to collect any residual fuel from the boat explosion.
At 6:04 p.m., fire crews were able to get the boat on fire out of the water and planned to assist Austin Watershed Department with capturing the remaining fuel floating on the water.
