ELMHURST, IL — An Elmhurst boy was offered a ride by a stranger after he fell off his bicycle on the way to school Monday, police said. The incident happened about 8 a.m. in the 300 block of East Church Street. After the fall, the driver of a gray sedan appeared behind the boy, according to a police report. The man asked the boy if he needed a ride to school, but the boy declined, police said. The man then drove north on Fair Avenue. The man was described as white, 30 to 50 years old, having short black hair and wearing a black jacket.
