ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a domestic battery, a dog bite, a bicycle fall, a Lyft driver incident, a patient with drugs, a gift card scam and people stuck in an elevator. Here is information from the latest reports: Domestic battery Joseph Pulido, 47, of Elmhurst, was arrested on a charge of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. His arrest was in connection with an incident that happened 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of South Hillcrest Avenue. Described as intoxicated, Pulido was accused of throwing a candle at a victim. Dog bite A man said he was walking his dog on Elm Creek Drive about 8 a.m. Monday when a man with two larger dogs came by. One of the other man's dogs broke away from its leash and lunged at the victim's dog. The victim shielded his dog and was bitten on his right wrist. The victim refused medical treatment. Bicycle fall An officer and medics responded to the report of a person down about 3 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of West Montrose Avenue. The victim reported he fell while he was riding his bicycle. He said he felt dizzy because of his medication. The officer took the victim and his bike back to the victim's house. Lyft driver incident A Lyft driver told police that a customer threatened him and told the driver to go faster about 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of North York Street. Because of conflicting statements, no arrests were made. Given no-trespass notice A resident in the 900 block of Hillside Avenue told police that a man drove by her house and made a hand gesture toward her at 9:30 a.m. Monday. She said she had told the man she no longer wanted to have contact with him. She requested the man be given a no-trespass notice. Patient with drugs Elmhurst police went to Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for a drug investigation. During an inventory of a patient's property, staff found the patient had suspected methamphetamine. It was placed into evidence. Charges are pending lab results. Gift card scam A resident in the 800 block of North York Street told police a person who posed as an Amazon security agent called to advise him of fraudulent activities on his account Saturday. The victim bought gift cards and provided the information to the suspect. The victim also gave the suspect access to his smartphone and found the suspect withdrew money from his bank account. Stuck in elevator People were stuck inside an elevator in the Addison parking garage about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The fire department helped open the elevator doors and remove the people. The elevator's emergency brakes were found to be engaged. DUI Konrad Kruk, 39, of Hoffman Estates, was arrested about 7 p.m. Tuesday at Grand and County Line Road on charges of aggravated DUI, aggravated driving with a revoked license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He also had a warrant from the Cook County Sheriff's Office. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Driving violations Ariel Cifuentes Ramos, 32, of Bensenvile, was cited about 8:30 p.m. Monday at York and North End on charges of driving with a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no seat belt. He was released on bond. Anton C. Champ, 32, of Chicago, was cited about 1 a.m. Tuesday at Illinois and North on charges of driving with a suspended license, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, transportation of open alcohol and improper lighting. He was released on bond. Markiyah M. Johnson, 18, of Chicago, was cited at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Gladys and Michigan on charges of no valid driver's license, improper lane usage and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. She was released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
