CHICAGO — Firefighters rescued a 17-year-old boy who fell between buildings in an Old Town neighborhood while taking photographs early Friday, authorities said.
The teenager fell four stories down a shaft between buildings in the 1200 block of North LaSalle Drive about 4 a.m., officials said.
Two firefighters used rope rescue system called GripTech to lower themselves down 40 feet to lift the boy from the shaft about 6 a.m., officials said.
A fire department spokesman said the boy was up on the roof taking pictures.
