Call 440-471-4982 to enroll for Camps  Jump in to Reading Camp Get ready for back to school with a kickstart in reading for students entering 1st to 3rd grade in the fall. Enjoy learning about reading skills through Literature-based activities including games, storytelling, poetry, songs and dance, with hands-on materials to expand reading and language skills. Developing link between reading and writing with responses to literature, while gaining confidence and enhancing skills. 2 Weeks August 2nd-12th 4 days each week Monday- Thursday choose from 9:00 to 12:00 pm or 3:00-6:00 pm Cost: $25 for AEA student $50 for non AEA student Location: North Olmsted 266855 Lorian RD and Strongsville 20566 Albion RD Writing Exploration Camp Writing camp for students entering 6th-9th grade. Students will learn about the elements of the writing process, including descriptive writing, informative working, narrative writing along with dialogue, tenses and point of view. Each day students will do different freewriting exercises to develop their writing skills. Students will: brainstorm story ideas, plan their stories and writings using a template, write a rough draft, revise and edit and then “publish” their own work on the district's web page. Outline of the camp: Day 1: Freewriting, intro to the writing process, grammar review Day 2: grammar review, free writing, various purposes of writing Day 3: research and citing sources with informative/ explanatory writing Day 4: comparison writing/ argumentative writing, use of figurative language Day 5:narrative writing, developing characters Day 6: Final project work, brainstorm, rough draft Day 7: Final project work, rough draft editing Day 8: editing and publishing final project Call 441-471-4982 ext 3305
