Fusion Jazz Band Seeking Drummer (NOVA) Two experienced guitarists and a bass player are looking for a skilled drummer with the ability to play instrumental fusion jazz. Some of the bands/musicians we’re into/influenced by include Billy Cobham, Dumpstaphunk, Robben Ford, Larry Coryell, David Sanborn, Herbie Hancock’s Head Hunters band, Marcus Miller, John Scofield, Oz Noy, Snarky Puppy, Widespread Panic, Weather Report, and Chick Corea. We're looking for an experienced drummer who can play in a deep groove, handle complex time signatures and can play with passion and with a high level of technique. We are all easy going and drama free, and we're looking for the same. We want someone who is reliable, mature, has a professional work ethic, no ego problems, and no alcohol or drug issues. Pro quality gear and reliable transportation are a must. We rehearse once a week on Saturday afternoon at a rehearsal studio in Falls Church. We have all been vaccinated and follow the CDC guidelines for wearing a mask and social distancing. Please note that we won't schedule an audition without hearing some clips of you playing first -- no sense in wasting each other's time if you're not a good fit for us.
