Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 05/20/2021 211401750 Preliminary information:  On May 20, 2021 at around 7:00 PM, officers were dispatched to a person shot call at I-85NB Expy at Cleveland Ave SW.  Upon arrival, officers spoke with a Lyft driver who stated he picked up two males and one female and was headed to their destination when the male backseat passenger produced a firearm and shot the front seat male passenger.  After the shooting, the female and shooter fled the scene and ran across the highway.  A citizen stopped nearby and transported the gunshot victim to the hospital.  At this time, the male is listed in critical condition.  Investigators were notified and will be working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.  The investigation continues.   Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and can change as the investigation progresses and new information comes to light.
