Description
I have two really great pet rats who need a new home.
Hazel & Nut, two brother male rats that are about five months old, are in need of a loving family who will give them adequate daily attention and take good care of them.
We got them in mid-February when they were about five weeks old. Their breed is a combination of Dumbo and Rex and since they were born have been handled consistently by humans. They are more than used to being picked up and carried around.
I had rats growing up and when it came time to think about getting our first pet (or two!) for our three and six-year-old kids, I went for it. It is apparent now that with our family needs, our upcoming travel schedule, and other personal reasons, it would be best to find a home that is better suited for them to thrive.
They are super cute and love to cuddle when you let them out for playtime, they will crawl up onto my lap and ask for Cheerios, their favorite snack.
They are extremely used to being handled, love belly rubs and head scratches, are super curious and playful, love to wrestle with each other, and are overall really great little guys. I have never been bitten once and they are even comfortable around our children. Although our three-year-old can be a tad rough, they just run away from him. Our son means well but he can't control his rough handling of them, which is one of the reasons why they're better suited to live elsewhere.
Asking for $25 each for rehoming.
I am sad writing this but I feel like it is the right thing to do. I think if I put this out there the right person will read it and pick up where we can't continue in their proper care.
Thank you in advance.
