We need your help to keep things moving. Louis Shanks Furniture is looking for dependable and experienced Delivery drivers to join our team. We are a family owned furniture store here in central Texas and our San Antonio location is looking for the right people. These are full-time positions with great salaries and full benefits. Requirements and qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent • A clean driving record along with a valid license • Must be able to pass Background Check and drug testing • Ability to work 40 hours (days and times may vary) • Lifting heavy furniture is required • Delivery/Handling experience required • Outstanding customer service skills • Dedicated and hardworking • Represent the company to the highest standards Duties but not limited to: • Verifies load against shipping papers. • Drives truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area. • Make sure delivery invoices are in correct order (compare to route sheet). • Check merchandise control tags with items on delivery ticket to make sure you have correct furniture. • Inspect each item before loading. Make sure each piece of furniture is padded and tied to prevent damage. • Make sure you have the proper tools to complete any assembly for each day. • Never pull into customer’s driveway when unloading. • Introduce yourself to the customer. • Collects signature from customer for delivery • Ask where the merchandise will be going before you unload • Assemble, polish, and wipe dust on all wood furniture and glass • If a problem occurs during delivery and it can not be correct, make notations on the invoice. Never make specific commitments to customer unless authorized by management • Use gloves when handling all upholstery pieces • Do not pick up furniture from a customer, that is being returned to Louis Shanks unless you have the proper paperwork (B/B or exchange invoice) or have called management for approval • The interior of the cab and the cargo box are to be cleaned daily and hatched before leaving • Make sure your invoices are signed before giving to dispatched • Return cell phone, gas card and truck keys to dispatcher • Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations • Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor/dispatcher to receive delivery instructions • Inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water • Unpacks incoming merchandise. • Delivers merchandise from retail store or warehouse to customers house or business.
