FLT Student Recruiter Job Description, Objectives, and Duties About FLT: FLT Academy is one of the largest flight training institutions in the United States, operating over forty aircraft between two states: Utah and California. Our program is designed around student excellence and student success. Our student core is made up of individuals seeking a career in aviation or just enjoying the skies as a recreational aviator. Our students see success navigating through their flight training in as little as twelve months, then being able to move into the workforce. Summary: At FLT Academy, smooth processes and systems are the key to our success. Our Recruiter(s), which are an integral part of the enrollment team, should have excellent organizational skills, a personable disposition, an extensive knowledge of social media management, customer service, and customer response. Some defining traits of FLT Academy’s Recruiter(s) is that they have a natural ability to roll with the punches, are able to embrace flexibility in order to handle anything that might come their way, and most importantly are strong and reliable support to the company’s enrollment team, communication, and educational success. Recruiters’ efforts, hard work, determination, and perseverance have a ripple effect throughout the company. The high quality and caliber of students recruited ensure better student progression, reduce the workload on instructors, and reduce overall liability. Recruiters shall identify, target, respond to, inform, assist, care for, mentor, and manage applicants throughout the recruitment and application process. They shall then ensure a smooth transition to the Enrollment Coordinator. Essential Functions: Essential functions, as defined under the American with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by incumbents of this class. Objectives: Maintain organized records pertaining to students applying for the program and ensure student files are transferred to the Enrollment Coordinator for dissemination to the appropriate department prior to Student beginning training. Coordinate internal and external resources and cultivate relationships with applicants and the community at large. Seek prospective student leads through social media, school visits and presentation, marketing generated leads, and other avenues as assigned by the company. Identifying, recruiting, vetting, interviewing, and providing no less than the monthly recruitment goal of approved students per month to the Enrollment Coordinator. Monthly recruitment goal to be established and communicated on a quarterly basis. Ensure a personal, friendly encounter by overseeing the applicant’s experience throughout the entire process. This extends to anyone coming into any office or location. Maintain complete accessibility by being both welcoming and available to all potential students. Coordinate Introductory Flights with the Administrative Staff for input into FLT’s various programs. Enthusiastically greet returning introductory flights to ensure the prospective student enjoyed their flight and gauge their interest in joining the program. Manage FLT Academy’s social media channels ensuring responses to all questions, comments, and concerns. Upload graduating photographs onto social media with appropriate captions. Identify and help form new marketing campaigns. Provides historical program application information, and track all reasons associated with a student not qualifying or joining FLT Academy. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Identify target populations and develop marketing strategies; identify and communicate with potential program participants; visit high schools, higher education institutions, career fairs, and community events at business and industry recruiting opportunities to promote the program; provide admissions information and establish productive relationships with potential students; develop a schedule of events promoting FLT Academy to aid in recruitment efforts; organizes, plans, and executes the monthly open house. Consult with FLT Academy personnel in the areas of Financial Aid, Admissions, and Records or other areas to advocate on behalf of the Provide career information and guidance for program participants. Provide assistance navigating external financing applications. Follow up on the application process and communicate with the Financial Aid/Financing Coordinator. Meet with prospective students and their families to provide admissions information and requirements; schedule student visits to FLT Academy campuses; give campus tours, reply to correspondence. Perform research for recruitment purposes. Maintain a database of program participants and contacts; formulate statistical program data. Organize and produce the FLT program orientation in conjunction with the Enrollment Coordinator. Perform other related duties as assigned. General Expectations: Employees are expected to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective, and competent manner and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, employees must understand the comprehensive role of FLT Academy as an educational institution and a business/employer, and work harmoniously with students, instructors and staff, and the public. Employees will follow all FLT Academy policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines as related to this position. It is also expected that each recruiter must utilize and follow up on all leads regardless if they are produced individually, a product of community outreach, or a result of direct or indirect marketing campaigns. As a result of a recruiter’s efforts, they are expected to reach FLT’s monthly target goal of qualified students who have been fully vetted, financially approved, and interviewed in order to be handed off to the Enrollment Coordinator. Skills and Qualifications: Strong organizational skills, time-management and people skills, flexibility, and multitasking ability Advanced computer skills and experience with online platforms Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems Advanced social media skills Proficient in marketing strategies Private pilot’s license Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years sales and recruiting experience Engaging personality and optimistic outlook Experience developing internal systems for applicant management Ability to handle confidential information
