Melbourne, FL 32904 Job Description Mission Statement To provide affordable independent housing for individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities utilizing public and private partnerships to develop a model community. Driver Duties: Pick up & delivery of items, including furniture, boxes, bags, and other items for donation or purchase. Entails loading, unloading, and moving furniture items such as sofas, chairs, tables, entertainment centers, dressers, etc. onto/off of the delivery truck and into/out of the store, houses, and office buildings. May encounter steps and/or stairs. Call customers on delivery/pick-up mornings to confirm the address and schedule. Inspect and maintain the vehicle to ensure the proper working condition and report mechanical problems, delays, accidents, or any other incidents to the manager. Assist in store as needed with daily tasks, donations, loading purchases, and rearranging furniture. Represent Promise in a positive manner and show appreciation for all donations and/or purchases. Qualifications and Required Skills: Valid Driver’s license and 5 years of driving experience. No more than 2 moving violations within the last 12 months. Be a minimum of 21 years of age. Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test. Not have a DUI on record within the last 7 years. Knowledge of how to operate a light delivery truck. Ability to load and unload heavy items from the commercial truck using the ramp, from residences or businesses with possible steps and stairs, and in and out of the store. Demonstrate good customer service, dependability, and reliability. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. Position 1: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - 8:00 am - 2:00 pm Position 2: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (Furniture Sales Assistant) Job Type: Part-time
