Originally from Montana, she has been riding mountain bikes for over 30 years, and raced downhill at a national level in the mid 90s.  She has organized and coached women's only rides and skills clinics in Montana, as well as Bend for the past 14 years.  She has coached private lessons, as well as with the Ladies All Ride program.  She loves helping women build strength, skills, and confidence through challenging sports such as mountain biking, skiing, and hockey. This clinic is offered for up to 12 intermediate level riders seeking to improve riding skills using body positions, effective braking, rocks/obstacles/terrain negotiation, cornering, switchbacks, wheel lifts, and small hops/jumps.   Intermediate riders have been riding at least a year and likely ride bikes on trail 1-2 times per week.   You are able to ride 1-2 hours with rest breaks.   You are working on skills, but likely are stepping off your bike in rock gardens, off taller rocks/drops, and rounding switch backs.   At a controlled speed, you are comfortable rolling over small obstacles, roots, rocks. You do not take your wheels off the ground.  You are comfortable riding green and blue rated trails. You can anticipate and shift gears according to terrain.  You can coast or descend balanced, standing on level pedals.  You are comfortable controlling your speed with front and back brakes.  Sagebrush Cycles clinic will be based fully at the new Rock Ridge Park on the north side!   Skills drills will be completed in the grassy areas.  But even better, we will utilize the on site skill development trails, —- saving time and energy not trekking so many miles through Phils Trails to access skills features.   Less trekking = more skills practice time.  Our day will be busy and informative.  The morning session will include a bike safety check, systematic skills development progression drills and exercises.  We will also learn how to change a flat.   The afternoon session, we will utilize Rock Ridge Park skills development trails. This session will focus on application of trail skills learned from the morning.   Recommend taking your bike in for mechanical check at least 1week prior.  Please call Sagebrush to schedule your bike check. 5413894224. Check them out at their new location at Skjersaa’s, 345 SW Century drive.  A well tuned bike makes for happy riders!   To minimize contact, there will be no bike mechanical check. Also recommend bring a filled water bottle/hydration pack, spare tube, and pump/CO2 quick fill, sunscreen, and snacks/energy bars.   Please bring your own first aid kit, covid rules apply here as well. Gloves will protect those hands.  If you own shin or elbow pads, bring those as well.  Helmets are REQUIRED.  We will be following the most current CDC covid guidelines on tha date of the clinic. Hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes will be provided. Lunch and libations will be provided, by New York City Subs, and Humm Kombucha!! Also there will be swag bags by Hammer Nutrition. Looking forward to a fun and informative day!!!   How can I contact the organizer with any questions?   [email protected]
