Description

Come through for the May edition of UNMD's Chinatown solidarity run. This month we're supporting Boston Asian Youth Essential Services. Join the crew on Sunday, May 23rd for our monthly Chinatown solidarity run. The run starts and ends at Laced, 100 Huntington Ave. Arrive promptly at 10 AM for bag check, we'll head out at 10:15. We'll run a 5K, and as always all paces welcome--no runner left behind. We are honoring AAPI Heritage month by looking toward the future supporting Boston's Asian Youth Essential Services, which serves youth with academic supports and advocacy especially when they are struggling and showing a pattern of poor academic performance and low attendance. They all also have access to social supports to develop knowledge, values, and life skills that will help them resist substance abuse; remain in school; learn to avoid violent and anti-social behaviors, and harmful relationships; and prevent alienation from parents, family and other caring adults and peers. We hope you'll consider a donation to support Boston Asian YES! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Chinatown Runners: "as the world continues to cope with the cascading impact of COVID-19, our international asian communities continue to suffer from violence and discrimination born out of ignorance, fear, and racism—perpetuated by socio-political propaganda that divides rather than unites us. {chinatown} runners aims to bring support, awareness, and love to protect and preserve the chinatowns and AAPI-centric neighborhoods in our cities and beyond. we run to fill in the gaps that global tourism can’t fill during a worldwide pandemic. we run to keep the streets safer by watching out for the most vulnerable. we run to celebrate the diverse cultural narratives that make our country wonderful. this is not a running club or a crew. this is a movement."
