A special performance by Andy McKee to benefit Capper Foundation's Pediatric Scholarship Assistance Fund. World-renown finger-style guitarist Andy McKee (andymckee.com) will join us for a special benefit for Capper Foundation's Pediatric Scholarship Assistance Fund. Having been off tour during the pandemic, this will be Andy's first in-person concert before he goes back on tour at the end of June! The event will be held Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Kay McFarland Japanese Garden and Venue that resides at the Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center. Pre Concert A drink ticket and hors d'oeuvres will start off the evening. For many of you this will be the first concert you've attended in a long time, so enjoy chatting with new and old friends while touring the beautiful new Kay McFarland Japanese Garden and meeting designer and Japanese Garden Master, Koji. These unique gardens and koi ponds transport you to a place of pure serenity. Concert Andy McKee will begin performing at 7:00pm. The new Kay McFarland Japanese Gardens are the perfect backdrop to Andy's ethereal melodic soundscapes. During intermission you will get a brief overview of Capper Foundation and the benefits we provide for children in our community with disabilities. Our Pediatric Scholarship Assistance Fund is the heart of Concert for a Child. Teamed with Andy McKee, we have the pleasure of raising funds for children in need of financial assistance to help with families who are uninsured or underinsured for pediatric therapy services. Meet & Greet Following Andy’s performance enjoy a “meet & greet” with him personally. Here is your chance to talk to Andy before he leaves on tour end of June. What a great opportunity! Capper Foundation will also have some of their pediatric therapists available during the meet & greet. Ask questions and hear stories of how our kids have progressed through the years through their wisdom and dedication.
