Looking for Processor, experienced Deckhands and a good cook that can cook for at least 30, have a good imagination for recipes, thee is no menu to cook off of. The boat will be backloading June 1st in Seattle. The F/V Baranof is currently in Seattle for shipyard. The Baranof normally fishes 10 months out of the year and the other part of the year the vessel is in Seattle for Shipyard where it currently is until approx. June 3rd when the vessel will leave with a full crew to head to Alaska to start fishing. We are mainly looking for PROCESSORS, however we have a couple openings for EXPERIENCED LONGLINE DECKHANDS ONLY, we are not interested in hiring a novice, our crew work their way up to deckhand. We are also looking for an EXPERIENCED BOAT COOK. You are welcome to apply as a processor, no experience necessary only motivation is necessary and a great attitude. Also looking for an EXPERIENCED boat COOK to work for a couple months through the summer. This is a position that REQUIRES EXPERIENCE of cooking on a boat that is moving A LOT from side to side. This is not for the line cook in a restaurant, you need to know how to put a meal together with what you have onboard and also conserve your ingredients. This job consists of a multitude of tasks which can change from day to day as the fishing demands or the Captain of the vessel sees fit. Shifts are 16+ hours per day, seven (7) days a week. The processing plant is ONBOARD fishing boats in Alaska. Duties may include but are not limited to: 1. Heading, cutting and gutting fish. Cleaning and cooking crab. 2. Packing the cleaned seafood into pans and loading into freezers. 3. Packaging up product after 1st freezing process to be stored down in the ship's hold securely. 4. General clean-up of vessel and the vessel's warehouse in Dutch Harbor when deemed necessary by officers and factory foreman. 5. Offloading operations in town (usually Dutch Harbor, AK). This is typically done by transferring product off vessel by offload belts into shipping containers or by loading onto trampers at sea. 6. Back loading supplies. Processors will also be involved with the back loading of supplies in town such as bait, food, and fiber. **You’re responsible for your own transportation to Seattle. No vehicle storage available.
