Now celebrating 40 seasons of theatrical excellence, the award-winning Jubilee Theatre will host a golf tournament on Monday, June 21, 2021 Now celebrating 40 seasons of theatrical excellence, the award-winning Jubilee Theatre will host its annual golf on Monday, June 21, 2021, at Shady Valley Country Club in Arlington, Texas.  Registration will be at 8 a.m. with a shotgun tee will be at 9:00 a.m. Under the leadership of board member, LaWonda Peoples, this fundraising initiative will tap into a market of patrons and cultural arts donors who enjoy a game of golf while supporting a worthy cause. “Golf tournaments are no brainers in the world of fundraising. Jubilee is continuously looking for alternative avenues to engage our community supporters. It is our hope that our patrons embrace this new initiative and join us for a great day of competitive play,” states Peoples. Serving as the Honorary Chair for the event will be College and Pro Football Hall of Famer, LaDainian Tomlinson. Tomlinson was an American professional football player who was one of the most productive running backs in National Football League (NFL) history. A Rosebud, TX native, he chose to attend Texas Christian University (TCU) where in his junior and senior years Tomlinson was a leading rusher. He finished fourth in the voting for the Heisman Trophy in 2000 and was selected by the San Diego Chargers with the fifth overall pick in the first round of the NFL draft in 2001. he retired in 2012—after having signed a ceremonial one-day contract with the Chargers—with 162 career touchdowns, the third highest total in NFL history at the time of his retirement. In 2017 he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Charles Schwab, Senior Manager of Community Relations, Greer Christian and the Director of Neighborhood Services Director, Victor Turner will serve as the event chairs. Both are avid golfers and bring fresh energy to this fundraising initiative. Registrants will enjoy complimentary breakfast and closing ceremony luncheon. Participate in hole challenges like the longest drive, closest to the hole, etc. Please note, ladies’ contests and tees will be available.
