Drew Massa Cooling, Inc. operates a Produce Cooler associated with a refrigerated transportation company in Salinas California. Sanitation is a key requirement at Drew Massa Cooling and we are searching for a person that will be a part of our quality and food safety team. Responsibility: The Sanitation Coordinator is a member of the Food Safety Committee and responsible for implementing the cleaning and sanitation according to Drew Massa Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and will work “hands on” for cleaning and sanitation tasks. The coordinator is also responsible for daily reporting of procedural implementation. Knowledge of operating procedures may include; • Type of cleaning implements to be used and how they are used. • The safe and proper use of cleaning chemicals. • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) • Mixing of the chemicals • Testing concentration of chemicals (and recording) • Application of chemicals e.g. use of scrubbing brushes • Rinsing off of chemicals as directed on label • Use of terminal sanitizers if left on the equipment • How to use and follow chemical product labels • Detail of any specific hard to clean areas of equipment • Concept of cleaning from the top of the equipment to the bottom • Use of hoses including splash back issues and backflow issues. • Specific requirements for when asked to clean while in active operation. • Use of color coded cleaning implements • Storage of cleaning implements always hung head down. All chemicals are stored in a secure, separate area, away from product. • Recording of cleaning operations • Recording of chemicals used. • Sanitation best practices for Cooler Units, Trash bins, Floors, Walls, Doors, Drains, Strips Curtains, Restrooms and break rooms • Daily pre-operational inspections – what they are, scope, how they are recorded, what happens if issues occur regarding cleaning and sanitation. • Use of microbiological samples, what they are, where they may be used, how the results are recorded, what happens if issues occur. Experience: Knowledge and use of electronic tablet devices for reporting purposes, English and Spanish speaking preferred, working in a team environment
