Come join us for the official Greenwood Community Garden kick-off BBQ and workshop featuring Ms. Nadine Farris Event DescriptionAs we are preparing for the upcoming garden construction date set for October, Greenwood Community Garden will host a kick-off BBQ to engage with everyone who is interested in participating in the planning and development of the garden site. Along with the kick-off barbeque, we will host an “Introduction to Community Gardening” Workshop, which will be led by Ms. Nadine Farris. Ms. Nadine is an experienced gardener, community garden manager and health expert. She is also a board member with the Kansas City Community Gardens. The barbeque and workshop will be held outdoors on the site where Greenwood Community Garden will be constructed. Both vegan and non-vegan dishes will be served at the barbeque and we plan to include activities for children as well. It is important to acknowledge the current social and safety constraints due to COVID-19 and so we plan to take all necessary precautions advised by the City of KCMO regarding hosting small gatherings in an outdoor setting.
