Yoga for Everybody at The Sustainable Living Project
Connect to nature while connecting to your mind, body, and spirit. The Sustainable Living Project (SLP) is an urban farm and education center where people can be immersed in the world of sustainability. SLP implements innovative and traditional technologies that help reduce our impact on the environment. Their 1 acre plot houses 34 grow beds (10 of which are dedicated to Veteran volunteers), 3 sheds, a water catchment patio with solar panels, a greenhouse with aquaponics, a chicken coop, bee hives and a 10 stall compost station. All of these elements play a part in our exploration of what it means for our bodies, communities and planet to be healthy. These goals align perfectly with Jai Dee Yoga & Wellness’s goals to foster healthy bodies & minds through yoga, meditation, bodywork, & community.
Urban Farm Yoga for Every Body is an all-levels practice where true beginners and experienced practitioners alike can experience the yoga practice that suits their individual needs. Based in the ancient art of Hatha Yoga which uses postures called asanas and conscious breathing to develop awareness of the physical body, build strength and flexibility, restore and maintain the natural mobility of the joints and provide relaxation.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes and bring a mat or towel and a bottle of water. You'll see the regulars also bring a twin size or so sheet, bedspread or blanket under your mat or towel. Parking is on the west side of the SLP alongside the back of the Salvation Army Building.
