Cambridge Police Department Conducting Investigation At Cherry And Harvard Street, Two Victims Suffer Gunshot Injuries

Press release from the City of Cambridge: May 19, 2021 The Cambridge Police are conducting an active investigation after there was a ShotSpotter activation and reports for gunshots in the area of Cherry and Harvard Street early this morning at approximately 12:10 a.m. More than six shell casings were located and recovered by the Cambridge Police following a preliminary investigation. There are two known victims reported at this time. Both men — one in their mid-twenties and another in his mid-thirties — are from Cambridge and were initially treated on-scene before being transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Multiple vehicles and and a building on Cherry Street also were damaged due to the gunshots. A vehicle was seen fleeing the area down Cherry Street towards Harvard Street following the report of gunshots. There have been no arrests made at this time.
