**Must Submit Resume To Be Considered **Animal Care Experience Required Seeking a Weekend Animal Caretaker with the ability to care for cats, dogs & birds, as well as have the capability to perform maintenance and janitorial work around the house. Most of the animals in our care came to us because they have no other place to go; many of them are elderly or have special needs. Once these animals come to us, they are guaranteed a place for life. Professional experience of dog & cat handling, knowledge of breeds, behavior and positive reinforcement training is a huge plus, but not required. This job entails working Saturday at 5am through Sunday at 10pm. You will have a room during your shift and will be required to stay over night so the animals are not alone and barking. Meal breaks during your shift are flexible. Here is a partial list of the kinds of activities that are part of this job: Job Description: • Provide daily food and water for the animals, and understand their individual schedules and diets • Administering medications • Clean litter boxes, cat rooms, and other animal enclosures • Maintain facility – laundry, dishes, and general cleaning & repairs • Yard maintenance • Groom animals (ex. baths, brush out, ear/eye cleaning, nail trims) and be familiar with individual behavior patterns to be able to recognize health issues • Socializing with the animals • Keeping the animals safe & healthy • Keeping the environment clean & safe • Job requires constant disinfecting and cleaning throughout the work day Requirements: • Passion for animals, responsible, and hardworking • Good rapport with and caring attitude toward animals • Must be able to correctly follow oral and written instructions • Doesn’t mind to get dirty • Must be physically able to perform heavy cleaning work throughout the day • A caring personality with love or general happiness around dogs/cats of all size • Willing to get down and dirty – properly disinfecting/cleaning is a huge part of the job • Excellent communication skills and can take direction, both verbal and written • Works well as a team and independently, always a go-getter, likes to stay busy • Able to lift 50lbs, constantly bend down & up; be on your feet for most of the day
