BEVERLY, MA — The Beverly Rapid Refill location is one of 18 in New England taking part in this year's "Purple Pump Up for Alzheimer's" program.
Beginning May 28, the Rapid Refill Convenience and Garrett's Family Market locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, including the Beverly location on Route 128, will hold a seven-week campaign to raise money for Alzheimer's awareness, support, care and research.
In its 10th year, the campaign will give each customer the opportunity to donate to the Alzheimer's Association nationwide with 5 cents from each gallon of gasoline or diesel fuel purchased on June 19 and June 20 also being donated.
Purple Pump Up has raised more than $760,000 in its nine-year history, including $147,000 in 2019.
"Volta Oil's strong sense of community involvement and commitment to ending Alzheimer's continues to have a tremendous impact, helping us bolster our efforts to support the families facing this devastating disease," said Jim Wessler, CEO of the Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. "The funds and awareness raised through this partnership are critical to aiding the fight against Alzheimer's."
