Press release from Town of Arlington: 05/19/2021 Spy Pond will be chemically treated with the USEPA/MA-registered herbicide Diquat to control nuisance aquatic vegetation on Thursday, May 20, 2021.  Usage restrictions for the pond after treatment include no boating or fishing until Friday, May 21, 2021. Restrictions will be posted and placed around the pond shoreline prior to treatment application. The project is being performed under a license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and an Order of Conditions permit from the Arlington Conservation Commission.
