WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield Public Schools Business Administrator Dana Sullivan will serve as interim Westfield superintendent of schools for the month of July after being appointed at the district's Board of Education meeting Tuesday. Sullivan will hold the month-long position until Dr. Raymond González begins as the district's new superintendent on Aug. 1. READ MORE: Westfield School Board Taps Westfield Superintendent For $231K Dr. Margaret Dolan announced her retirement this year after 14 years with the district. Sullivan works closely with Dolan on district operations. She will continue to work with Dolan and will consult with González during the month-long transition. Sullivan joined the district as Business Administrator/Board Secretary in September 2012, following 15 years as BA in the Montclair Public Schools. She prepares and oversees the annual budget, serves as the official purchasing agent for the board, ensures the proper maintenance of records relating to auditing requirements and tax laws, and supervises all custodial, maintenance, food service, transportation personnel, and business operations staff. Sullivan is a Certified Public Accountant, a licensed Public School Accountant, and a registered School Business Administrator. She holds certifications as a New Jersey School Business Administrator, Chief School Administrator, and Principal/Supervisor. Educational credentials also include a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from Montclair State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Rutgers University.
