If you answered yes- keep reading! Bark Avenue is looking to hire. We are an established, community-based boutique doggy daycare located within two retail spaces of the Avalon Mission Bay Apartments. Very easy to commute to, as we are located right off the freeways & close to public transport. Bark Avenue is a unique dog daycare in that we offer both indoor & outdoor play, and have a very high staff to dog ratio, using only positive reinforcement methods. It’s a great environment for both pups and our staff. For us- finding the right person or persons is important. We all like each other and have lots of integrity and loyalty. At Bark Avenue, we care about our staff as much as we care about the pups entrusted to us. We are looking for candidates who are kind, hardworking, have a good attitude, and can work well together as a team. Without our awesome team we would not be in business and we do not take that for granted. If you have experience working with dogs as a walker, trainer, shelter volunteer, vet tech, kennel assistant or related field and would like to learn more about dog behavior and reward based training in a supportive and caring environment, we would love for you to join the bark ave family. You will need to be physically fit as we walk a lot, be detailed oriented, multitask, and be able to follow instructions & training protocols. Our ideal future team member is: Someone who LOVES dogs and has professional experience working with them. Must be a person of integrity: reliable, loyal, of calm demeanor but energetic, positive, organized and extremely prompt. Must be able to thrive in a sometimes chaotic, unpredictable work environment and remain calm during an emergency or crisis. Must own a smartphone with access to email and text messaging. (iPhone preferred) Must be legal to work in US, have clean record, and should be at least 21 years of age. Must live within 1 hr of our location including commute time. Must be athletic and strong enough to carry 50lbs (average weight of dogs) in case of an emergency. Must enjoy interacting with people, have a good attitude, and have a sense of humor. We are a tight knit family that consists of a lovely combination of personalities. Compensation: Starting at $16.07 an hour + depending on experience, certifications etc. Dog walking certification available upon completion of probationary period($1000 value). We also support continuing your training in this field should you already have your dog walker certification. Offering: 1 Full-time position with a set schedule of about 25-30hrs per week, hours roughly 1-6pm, M-F 1 -2 part time positions: evenings, 1-6 pm. About 15 hours per week. Qualified and interested?
