Drag Queen Story Time Hosted in Honor of Pride Month

Temple Beth-El, Northbrook will host a virtual "Drag Queen Story Time" on Saturday, June 5 at 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The Zoom event will feature Merriam Levkowitz, Chicago premier drag queen Jewish "bubbie" (grandmother) who will read two picture books appropriate for all ages about love and celebration of everyone. The community is invited to join in this celebration of Pride Month in June with Temple Beth-El, Northbrook members on Saturday evening, June 5. There is no charge to register: https://tbenorthbrook.shulcloud.com/event/drag-queen-storytime.html "Merriam will also dance and sing and get us all up and moving and feeling great," said Rabbi Ari Moffic, Director of Congregational Learning. "We are going to start the Zoom with my introduction about why we as a Temple community celebrate Pride Month (in June and every day) and about all people being made b'tzelem Elohim, in God's image." Merriam will talk in age-appropriate ways about Pride and then go into her signature song, Proud Merri. "We invite the entire community to join in this joyous and educational celebration," Rabbi Moffic added. This is a free family friendly show. Suggested donation is $5-$10.
