EVANS CITY, PA —Former WPXI-TV reporter Amy Marcinkiewicz won the Republcan district magistrate nomination in Evans City. Marcinkiewicz cross-filed and ran on both the Democratic and Republican ballots.
She won by 42 votes in the Republican race.
Marcinkiewicz retried from the station in February after covering Butler County for 26 years.
That magisterial district covers the townships of Adams, Connoquenessing, Forward, Jackson, Lancaster and the boroughs of Callery, Connoquenessing, Evans City, Harmony, Mars, Valencia, and Zelienople.
According to the WPXI website, the St. Louis native began her broadcasting career as an anchor and reporter for KOMU-TV in Columbia, MO. She then went towork at WBOY-TV in Clarksburg, WV, where she anchored the news.
Marcinkiewicz then served as host of the magazine show Midday El Paso at KDBC-TV in El Paso, TX and anchored the news at KSHB-TV in Kansas City, MO before arriving at WPXI in 1995.
