Outdoor Pools Near Opening Dates In Glenview

GLENVIEW, IL — It's nearing outdoor pool season and things could look quite differently than they did one year ago. While a number of area pools either delayed opening in 2020 or were forced to close at times due to coronavirus outbreaks, this summer's season appears to be much more promising. Both the Flick and Roosevelt Outdoor Aquatic Centers will be open this year in Glenview. "Our staff is working hard to finalize everything for a great summer season following all state guidelines to ensure your safety," the Glenview Park District said in a post on its website. "If the COVID-19 guidelines change, our plan may require adjustments. We will be communicating additional details with you in the near future." For Flick, located at 3600 Glenview Road, the fun starts first with pre-season dates scheduled starting May 29. The schedule at Flick runs as follows: Pre-Season Dates: May 29-31, June 5-6, June 7-11Regular Season Dates: June 12-Aug. 15Post-Season Dates: Aug. 15-22, Aug. 28-29, Sept. 4-6 With Roosevelt, located at 2239 Fir St., the regular season starts on June 12 and runs through Aug. 15. Outdoor Aquatic Memberships are available again this summer. If you plan to visit the pools several times this summer, "membership is the way to go," according to the district.
