Press release from Fountaindale Public Library District: Melissa May 19, 2021 It's been a long 15 months since we've been able to hold in-person events, but as we move into summer, we're looking forward to getting together outdoors once again! Join us all summer long for exciting events out in the community. All of the events listed below are for children of all ages and do not require registration unless otherwise noted. And don't forget to sign up for Summer Adventure starting June 1 so you can earn points and get prizes for attending these events! Storytimes at the Museum Tuesdays, June 1, July 6 & August 3, 9:30 a.m. Bolingbrook Historical Museum, 444 E. Briarcliff Road Ages 2–6 with an adult Join us for outdoor stortimes in the garage next to the Bolingbrook Historical Museum. Miss Laura will spark your child's imagination with stories, songs and other fun activities. After storytime, learn more about our village as you browse through the exhibits. Registration required. Cavalcade of Planes Saturday & Sunday, June 5 & 6, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Clow International Airport, 214 Clow International Parkway Visit our new Bookmobile at Clow Airport's annual air show, Cavalcade of Planes. Check out books, movies and be one of the first people to see our new Bookmobile in action! Super Stolie Guacamole Wednesday, June 9, 11 a.m. Winston Woods, 200 Winston Drive Enjoy a high-energy musical show that incorporates Spanish language and Latin culture. Connect with the Spanish-speaking world through songs, stories and a family dance party. Wednesdays at Winston Woods Wednesdays June 9–July 21, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Winston Woods Park, 200 Winston Drive Join our Outreach and Children's Services teams at Winston Woods this summer for a variety of fun crafts, stories and games! Our amazing MOPs players (Miss Melissa, Mrs. C and Miss Laura) will even present fun puppet shows for the whole family on these select dates at 11:30 a.m. June 16: Soup Opera by Jim Gill July 14: Lizard Song by George Shannon July 21: A special Spanish language MOPs show Nature Art Saturdays, June 12, July 17 & August 7, 10:30 a.m. Fountaindale Library Lawn Create art using leaves, flowers and more. Registration required; register at the Children's Services Desk or call 630.685.4181. Outdoor Mini Movin' & Groovin'  Saturdays, June 19, July 10 & August 14, 9:30, 10:15 & 11 a.m. Ages 8 months–5 years, with an adult Fountaindale Library Lawn Get your little ones moving & Groovin' in the fresh air. Registration required; register at the Children's Services Desk or call 630.685.4181. Story Stroll in the Park Mondays & Tuesdays Bulldog Park (Behind the library) Enjoy physical activity, time outdoors in nature, literacy and family time with this self-guided activity. Pages from the featured picture book will be posted on signs along the outdoor path from Monday morning until Tuesday afternoon. As you stroll, you will follow from page to page and read the story. June 21–22: Bear Sees Colors by Karma Wilson July 19–20: Cheetah Can't Lose by Bob Shea Bolingbrook Village Picnic Sunday, June 27, noon–5 p.m. Village Hall, 375 W. Miss Jamie from the Farm Wednesday, July 7, 11 a.m. Winston Woods Park, 200 Winston Drive Miss Jamie's Farm music show is a high-energy, audience interactive musical play with farm animal puppets. Kids can sing along, dance and learn about farm animals and food. Be sure to also visit us at the Bolingbrook Park District's Wednesday Night Summer Concerts.
