Culver City Crossroads May 19, 2021 The Wende Museum's online weekly series continues today with Art-Past-Present, co-hosted by Farrah Karapetian. Dancer, dance researcher and dance activist Tara Pandeya will be the guest. Tara Pandeya, who performed as a solo dancer with Cirque du Soleil, has specialized in the classical dance traditions of the Central Asian republics along the Silk Road. Farrah and I will speak with her about cultural traditions and identity building, orientalism, the balance between authenticity and topicality, the intelligence of the body, and dance and community building.
