Press release from Pima County: May 19, 2021 The Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department and its contractors will conduct sewer repairs at the following locations between May 17 and May 22: Achen-Gardner Construction – Day work between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Achen-Gardner will perform miscellaneous sewer repairs that may include sewer cleaning, pipe lining, or manhole rehabilitation at the following locations and dates. 925 W. Langley Ave.: May 22 Borderland Construction – Old Nogales Interceptor (ONI) Sewer Improvement Project -Day work between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Segment 1--The contractor continues excavating portions of right-of-way property on the north and south sides of the intersection of Ajo Way and Fair Avenue. New sewer lines will be installed beneath Ajo Way. This work will necessitate the closure of Fair Avenue to all vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic between Ajo Way and President Street. The ONI project is designed to increase capacity and install new sewer infrastructure in order to manage future anticipated flows along the new Aerospace Corridor and Aerospace Parkway. This part of the project is scheduled to be complete this month. Segment 2--The contractor will continue working southward to install a 36-inch diameter pipe within Fair Avenue and the right-of-way easement between the Union Pacific Railroad and Fair Avenue. Extensive trenching, heavy equipment and safety considerations will require Fair Avenue to be closed to all vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic between Ajo Way and Michigan Drive/Fair Street.
