Description
WORCESTER, MA — A black bear interrupted a beautiful day at the park for several people in Worcester on Wednesday.
The small bear was seen scurrying around Shore Park along Indian Lake, sending several fisherman and other visitors out of the park, according to WHDH. Footage captured by the station shows the bear, which appears to have a tag in its ear, running in a wooded area at the park on the north end of the lake.
Although bear sightings aren't common in Worcester, the omnivores are very active in spring, and there have been recent sightings of bears in Framingham and Ashland.
State wildlife experts advise residents to remove possible food sources from yards to avoid encounters. Black bears can be dangerous, but attacks are rare.
