Seeking some new friends to play in a little brass group (quintet, brass choir, etc). Hoping to busk and gig around town. This is mostly for fun, but I’d really like to find some folks who don’t mind committing to a regular rehearsal schedule (and practicing on your own, of course). I’m envisioning finding fun transcriptions of modern tunes, playing a few gags during the show, and just trying to do sets that make people smile, dance, and have an unexpectedly good time. Sounds fun, right?
I’m a trumpet hobbyist, meaning I played all the way through college but didn’t pursue it as a career and have a normal full time job. I’m looking for other brass players similarly interested in playing in a somewhat serious manner, but who also are not expecting this to be a replacement for their normal job.
