Valley City ND

Description

I'm assisting an author in gathering information for what he hopes will become his next book. We have done a vast amount of research into the history of ND police departments and sheriff's offices around the state and are currently in the processing of compiling the history of each one with former and current officers to understand the changes they have faced throughout their careers. I've been researching issues that mainly deal with the issues departments have faced that bore a negative impact or view by the community in the way cases have been dealt with. Things like officers accused of witness or evidence tampering, harassment, departments taking bribes, extorsion, and so on. Right now I've been meeting with former officers from departments stretching from Ellendale to Valley City and there is one name that has come up from almost everyone I've interviewed and I'd like to get a few more stories from people before I try to contact the former officer to hear his side of the events revealed. If you have any stories about your encounter working with, supervising, being supervised by or being investigated/questioned/arrested by Robert Buelow, please send me a message. For those that have a story to share, it's up to you if you would like to give your name or remain anonymous. And remember, there is no guarantee that this series of stories will end up in the book, that is up to the author as well as how much of the info is verifiable. From what I have heard so far I think there could be an interesting story that follows former officer Buelow through the numerous ND police departments he's been employed by. I'm especially intrigued by his time employed with the Valley City PD because I've only been able to get statements from 2 former officers that worked closely with him, and the city will only acknowledge that he was an officer there at one time but they refused to say anything further. The city would not say when or for how long he worked there, why he left, if he had received any awards or commendations, they wouldn't even say what his specific role within the department was. Each of those topics are a matter of public record for city, county or state law enforcement officer so to be refused any answers usually means there's a story to be told. If there is anyone willing to tell their experience with former officer Buelow please reply to this post with your story if you'd wish to remain anonymous, or reply with contact details if you are ok with giving consent to publish your name if your experience is chosen by the author to write about.
