I am horribly sad to have to rehome these sweet girls. I am going to complete an out-of-state internship and simply cannot care for them during that time. My husband is on the road all the time so we are looking for a stable, permanent home for them. We adopted Honey (pink harness) and Sunshine (red harness) in 2015. They are part dachshund and part chihuahua (Chiweenie). We believe they are about 7.5 years old and are siblings. They are extremely attached to one another, have never been separated and I'm asking that they remain together. Both dogs are extremely loving and loyal. They are happy, healthy, are current on all their shots, are spayed and chipped, and I have their complete vet records. Yes, they are spoiled! They love to be rubbed, held, and will snuggle with you on the couch. They will follow you around the house but are generally content, love to sleep, and do not suffer from separation anxiety. They have never showed any aggression, never nipped or bitten anyone. They will growl or bark if they are afraid but generally are timid around others. Honey will warm up quicker than Sunshine, who tends to be more skittish and standoffish. A dog treat will usually bring them around. BTW, these are HOUSE dogs and should never be left outdoors alone for longer than a few minutes. They are only kenneled at night for sleeping and then have always roamed free in the house. Of course, they are fully house broken and do not have accidents nor are they destructive or will chew. Mostly, they sleep during the day. I will only part with them if I can find them a good home. Ideally, I prefer a home with no small children or other pets, with someone who has time to give them a lot of attention and will take them for regular walks. We believe there was some trauma in their history before us because they are seriously afraid of most children, particularly toddlers. They also do not get along with other dogs and do not like dog parks. They do love chasing rabbits and squirrels! I do not care what city or state you live - if I believe you can give them excellent care, a safe home and keep them together, I will personally bring them to you with their dog beds, kennel, food, treats, and favorite toys. I don’t want any money, I only want a safe and good home for them. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY.
