If you're one of more than 70 million people who provide unpaid care giving for a family member or friend -- in your own home -- you know that the time and energy burden can be enormous. At Massachusetts MENTOR, we provide caregivers with the support they need to care for a loved one at home. Rather than placing your loved one outside of the home in a nursing facility or residential, we bring the supports to you to keep your loved one home where they can have a better quality of life. We provide a financial stipend paid out bi-weekly to a designated family caregiver who lives in the home with their loved one, a registered nurse who visits the home to assist with medical maintenance, a case manager who visits the home to assist with day to day activities and goal setting, and 24/7 on call support. All these services are free to families and paid for through MassHealth insurance. Are you eligible? Are you currently living with your loved one? Is he or she on MassHealth Insurance (Standard or Commonwealth Care)? Is the person you care for at least 16 years or older? Are you assisting the person you care for with any combination of the following: Mobility in or outside of their home, bathing, dressing, toileting, eating or transferring, transportation?
