I’ll never understand why you did that to me, why you repeatedly pulled me in like a yoyo on a string only to keep pushing me away. I gave up trying to make sense of it; whatever caused you to do it (ego, boredom, casual cruelty) is Your problem, not mine. But! For all the pain you put me through, the universe switched gears and reversed itself. For the first time in my life, I met someone who isn’t a taker (or cruel manipulator ahem). Now I understand what it’s like to actually receive love and care and *mind blown* it’s life changing. I suppose for men like you that hide behind a facade of altruism and integrity it’s no big deal but for me, I recognize the gift the universe gave me. So thank you I guess, for showing me through your confounding treatment of me that I deserved more and the universe saw fit to give it to me.
