Under supervision of Production Team Leader, performs daily tasks related to beneficial insect production cooperating with three to four coworkers. March through mid-late September, 30 – 40 hours per week, 7:00-7:30am to 3-4pm, including weekends, $13.00 - $13.50 per hour depending on skills and performance. Examples of Duties: 1. Clean pupae, mix product with wood shavings and package in bags for storage and shipment. 2. Divide production pupae in boxes and containers for incubation. 3. Collect emerging wasps daily from containers over vacuum table and return pupae to container. 4. Check wasp emergence for contamination. 5. Dry pupae in screen cages and place in sting cages with parasitic wasps to be parasitized. 6. Dump and refill pans of media for fly larvae 7. Keep simple records as appropriate. 8. Participate in safety training and help assure safe conditions and procedures. 9. Participate in meetings related to quality and quantity of production. 10. Help assure secure storage of insect products checking temperature and humidity of rooms. 11. Help maintain work and storage areas, equipment and vehicles in orderly, good working condition. 12. Be alert for problems and report situations as soon as possible to team leader or General Manager. 13. Other duties including packaging and other tasks in shipping department and facility maintenance. 14. Help clean production, shipping, storage, office and break areas, inside and outside. 15. Other tasks as needed in insect production, shipping or office. Qualifications: 1. Dependable, organized, accurate honest and responsible team player. 2. Efficient and safety-conscious, especially with tasks requiring repetitive motion. 3. Helpful and cooperative with coworkers and ready to do whatever is needed. 4. Ability to learn insect production routines, work efficiently and follow directions. 5. Effective communication in English. Bilingual Spanish a plus. 6. No history of allergies or respiratory problems that would recur under normal conditions of atmospheric dust. 7. Tolerance for unusual biological odors.
